ABOUT CHEMISEED Chemiseed was formed in 2003 with agrichemicals and seeds as its main business. The name chemiseed was coined from the two words chemicals and seeds. It has maintained the same business but focus is on cover crops seeds. Cover crops are legumes used by oil palm plantations as a blanket cover to barren areas during planting of new opened areas or replanting in fields previously cleared from old palm or rubber trees. Cover crops work wonders to both soil and palm trees. It functions as blanket cover to topsoil, controls erosion, controls weed dominance,maintains soil moisture, attracts beneficial organisms, fixes nitrogen from the air, improves soil tilth. And most of all, its environment friendly. Use of herbicides are minimized or zero. Chemiseed Sdn Bhd gets its supply in the Philippines. There we do contract farming, sourcing and outsourcing from local seed suppliers and collectors. This procedure has enabled us to control seed quality. SEED PRODUCTION: We are hands on in sourcing the seeds by going to the field and meeting with seed collectors, dealers, and the villagers. SEED CLEANING: Chemiseed is equipped with seed cleaning tools that can process, classify, and eliminate unwanted seeds and other foreign materials. GRADING AND PACKAGING: Grading is done after the seeds has been cleaned. The seeds are sieved. Extra large or under size seeds are eliminated. Thus, only uniform shape and size seeds are collected and ready for the market. Polypropylene bags are used. Its material is interwoven and has tiny holes which facilitate easy penetration of fumigant prior to shipment. These small openings enable exchange of air from the inside of the bag to the outside and vice-versa. Air flow is necessary to avoid staling the seeds by maintaining normal temperature while the seeds are stored in the warehouse before, during and after shipment. Double bags (one inner and one outer) are used either 25kg or 50kg depending on buyer's choice. LABELLING: Bags are labelled according to buyer's specifications. OUR MAIN PRODUCTS: 1.
